(United Publications, December 1997) Boston will play host to the first annual Natural
Gourmet Food Show on May 11-12, 1998 at the Hynes Convention Center. The one-of-a-kind
show, sponsored by Gourmet News, brings together the best of two
dynamic markets--specialty food and natural food.
In recent years, the crossover between specialty food shoppers and natural
food shoppers has become a market trend that retailers can no longer afford to
ignore. The food lining the shelves of gourmet shops and health food stores has
become strikingly similar.
"The Natural Gourmet Food Show represents an exciting marriage of fancy food and
natural food," says Chris Crocker, publisher of Gourmet News. "This will be a highly
focused event at which retail buyers can find delicious, attractively packaged food
products that appeal to health-conscious, upscale consumers while avoiding the
clutter of dietary supplements, remedies and other peripheral items that dilute
other industry shows."
The show will feature close to 300 exhibits--from salsas and soups to salad
dressings and snack foods. The exhibit hall will be open both days from 10:00 a.m.
until 4:00 p.m.
"The two day trade show will make it easy for retail buyers to discover and
sample the best gourmet food, prepared without preservatives or additives," says
Phil McKay, group show director. "Buyers at the Natural Gourmet Food Show will also
have the opportunity to attend business-building seminars."
