Cannabis Rock Star Lineup For The Green Market Summit In Chicago

As the U.S. market continues to develop, the  Green Market Report invites you to discuss the advanced economic state of cannabis at the Green Market Summit in Chicago, Illinois on May 7, 2019. This special one-day symposium will discuss the continued development of the U.S. cannabis market, as well as the effect that the 2018 Farm Bill’s passage has had on the industry.

The Green Market Summit is designed to help investors network with some of the cannabis industry’s most powerful operators and provide up-to-date information and industry best practices to help facilitate the exchange of valuable data and market developments to improve investment decision making and business strategy.

The keynote event brings together the head of one of the fastest growing cannabis companies in the world, Peter Miller, CEO of Slang Worldwide Inc. (SLGWF), and one of the world’s most premier financial journalists, CNBC’s Tim Seymour, for a fireside chat about the explosive growth of the cannabis industry and specifically a deep dive looking at running a successful vape business.

Miller is a cannabis industry veteran with over 10 years of experience with agricultural, operational, and technological aspects of operating in the sector. He is also the co-founder of Mettrum Health Corp., which, in 2017, was sold to Canopy Growth Corporation for aggregate consideration of approximately $430 million. At the time, Mettrum Health Corp. was a leading licensed producer and vendor of medical cannabis. Mr. Miller is also the Chief Executive Officer of Agripharm.

Seymour is the founder and Chief Investment Officer of Seymour Asset Management(SAM). Tim is a recognized voice within the investment community as a trader and market strategist on CNBC. Tim was recently added as a Board Member at cannabis packaging company KushCo Holdings Inc (KSHB).

Multi-state cannabis operator and hometown Chicago favorite Cresco Labs (CL.CN) will explain the challenges of building a national brand in an environment where laws vary state-by-state and how the company is working towards creating a national identity despite these challenges.

Cresta Management will lead a panel about the skills and qualities that cannabis companies look for in employees and the trends that people search for when looking to work in the cannabis industry. It seems everyone wants to work in the cannabis industry these days and Cresta knows what the companies are looking for when they hire.

As the cannabis industry tries to understand the impact of the 2018 Farm Bill’s passage, which legalized industrial hemp on the federal level, Jonathan Rubin, Founder of Cannabis Benchmarks will relay what he’s learned from farmers and cultivators as to prices of the emerging hemp market. Hemp futures trading is expected to begin this year and Rubin has extensive knowledge with the pricing of wholesale hemp due to his years of working with wholesale cannabis prices.

Rounding out the event, cannabis entrepreneur Lori Ferrara of Treehouse Global Ventures will lead a frank and honest discussion about the role of women in the cannabis industry and how they can build their business and gain access to capital. Ferrara is an experienced adviser and a sought-after investor shark, a seasoned mentor, a mother, a pioneer. Ferrara is a 30-year veteran of highly regulated industries—including international categories such as television distribution and cannabis, where she’s made a habit of breaking through male-dominated industries’ glass ceilings via her tenacious entrepreneurial drive and fierce work ethic. She will be joined by Amy Margolis, Tahira Rehmatullah and Tracy Mason.

Margolis is a 17-year practicing attorney and founder of The Initiative, the world’s first business accelerator established to help female-founded cannabis businesses succeed and access funding. Rehmatullah serves as MTech Acquisition Corp’s Chief Financial Officer and is Managing Director of Hypur Ventures.

Of course, you can’t be a successful cannabis business if you can’t navigate through the compliance rules and regulations. MMLG Brands works directly with clients on sensitive matters that touch the industry directly. For compliance, licensing, and investment advice this is the top cannabis consulting firm. Aaron Lachant, CEO of MMLG, Juli Crockett, Director of Compliance at MMLG and Harry Nelson, founding partner at Nelson Hardiman will be on hand to talk to the crowd at the Summit.

Following the all-day symposium, ticket holders will be treated to an exclusive after-party sponsored by KCSA Strategic Communications and featuring complimentary food, cocktails, and music provided by Michael Glabicki of Rusted Root with Dirk Miller. Rusted Root had big hits in the 90’s including “Send Me On My Way.”
