The Athlete-Founded Non-Profit Is Collaborating With LeagueSide, The Nation’s Leading Youth Sports Sponsorship Platform, To Generate Immediate Assistance for Youth Sports Across the Country

Philadelphia, Pa. – May 7, 2020 /AxisWire/ Athletes For CARE(A4C), in partnership with LeagueSide, is proud to launch #SaveYouthSports, a funding initiative for youth sports. Due to the financial impact of COVID-19 on families and organizations, youth sports programs across the country are suffering. More than half of youth sports programs are at risk of permanent shut-down leaving more than 20 million children without access.

In order to save youth sports, Athletes for CARE and LeagueSide are embarking on a fundraising campaign to help raise much needed funds to preserve youth sports organizations throughout North America.

“As an organization of more than 200 professional athletes whose athletic careers started in youth sports, we understand the importance of these programs. Children who participate in sports learn significant life skills, make friends, stay active, and for some, athletic programs provide a safe haven from abuse or neglect at home,” said Anna Valent, Executive Director of Athletes for CARE.

“Canceled leagues and tournaments result in lost revenue for organizers (predominately non-profits).” said Evan Brandoff, Co-Founder and CEO of LeagueSide. “Families are asking for refunds and youth sports organizations’ bank accounts are running dry, this compounds the problem of non-participation among children from low income families who are already 400% more likely to quit a sport due to costs,” He added.

Athletes for CARE Ambassadorsare proud to be rallying together to support this immediate need, and #SaveYouthSports. Each and every athlete has been impacted by youth sports which has served as the foundation for their professional careers.

“Losing youth sports is devastating due to so many kids missing out on building critical life-long skills such as discipline and teamwork as well as how to win and lose in life with grace. Great leaders I meet in all walks of life share how sports has given them the ability to fail and lose but still rise up for victory!,” said NFL Hall of Famer and “NFL 100” Member, Ronnie Lott.

“Youth sports changed my life. It taught me self-confidence, self-efficiency and independence. I played adaptive sports in an able-bodied world, and the impact of my relationships to my teammates was inclusive and helped me become who I am today,” said Kaitlyn Verfuerth, Team USA Paralympian 2004, 2008 and 2016 Wheelchair Tennis.

“As a kid I was bullied on a daily basis due to a bad skin disease. Playing youth sports helped me redirect the anger I had for the bullies, and channel that anger towards track & field and Martial arts.” Said Bas Rutten, Former MMA, Kickboxer and Wrestler. “Youth sports taught me to listen to instructions, discipline, interacting with other kids, improved my cognitive skills, more importantly, it gave me a purpose and later in life a profession. I was a super hyper kid, what they now call ADD, so playing youth sports helped not only me, but also my family and everybody around me from going nuts.” Rutten added.

“As an adolescent my vision for getting out of Louisiana was to utilize my athletic skills to create a platform which would grant me the opportunity to receive an education scholastically, so I worked my tail off in middle school and high school.” Said Leonard A Marshall Jr., Former NFL Defensive Lineman. “My youth sports experience on the football, baseball, and basketball fields allowed me to gain the discipline to play professionally and also develop the character of a competitor with many of my friends.” he added.

Corporate sponsors and individuals who recognize the value of youth sports are encouraged to donate to #SaveYouthSports and participate in sharing the campaign. For more information on getting involved or contributing to #SaveYouthSports, visit www.saveyouthsports2020.com.

“Online, direct to consumer delivery platforms have always been the priority sales channel for our Saka Vinfusions™,” notes House of Saka, Inc. CEO, Tracey Mason. “The convenience, combined with a stigma-free shopping environment, provides the most ideal opportunity for both our traditional consumers and the emerging new consumer.”

“The ability for us to be able to bring our product directly to our consumers presently sheltering safely at home during this crisis was critical,” expressed Sue Bachorski, House of Saka COO & CFO. “We are both excited and extremely grateful to have partnerships in place with such a respected and far reaching group as Driven Deliveries and their popular platforms Ganjarunner.com and budee.org. Their organization is professional, dependable and respected. These are the attributes that we seek in our relationships.”

In the age of social distancing, it is now more important than ever to expand consumers’ access to cannabis while limiting one’s potential exposure to Covid-19. Sacramento, CA – April 16, 2020 /AxisWire/ Today a new trade organization, the Cannabis Beverage Association (CBA), announced its formation with founding board members that operate at the highest levels within the industry. To educate policymakers and consumers, establish standards for operators and testers to uphold, and advocate for common-sense policies so we can ensure that the cannabis beverage industry delivers safe, high-quality, reliable products to the consumers who enjoy them.

“Having been a founding member of the California Cannabis Couriers Association (CCCA) and seeing the progress that can be made with a passionate group of industry stakeholders, I founded the Cannabis Beverage Association. The rules governing cannabis manufacturers were developed without much regard for beverages and some of those rules are onerous and asinine and deserve a second look to ensure the nascent cannabis beverage segment is allowed to grow to its potential.” Macai Polansky, co-founder of Spacestation, a cannabis beverage manufacturer, and founder of the CBA.

Some of the immediate goals that this organization will be addressing during this legislative session include advocating for more realistic packaging requirements, less restrictive requirements for child-resistant resealable closures for multi-dose products, loosen the restrictions on use of alcohol-related terminology (i.e. rose’, IPA, etc.), increase the tolerance for variance from the labeled amount in microdose products, and to simplify the process for obtaining finished product beverages to use as samples. These are some of the issues that are keeping infused beverages from reaching its potential and the CBA hopes to help alleviate these harsh and unnecessary restrictions through strategic and thoughtful lobbying efforts.

Founding Board Members Include:

Macai Polansky – Spacestation – Founder and President/Chairman

Austin Stevenson – Vertosa – Founding Member and Treasurer

Aaron Silverstein – BevZero – Founding Member and Secretary

Ben Larson – Vertosa – Founding Member

Amy Ludlum – California Dream’ – Founding Member

Organization Mission Statement:

To advance the interests of cannabis beverage producers and their consumers through advocacy and education. It is our mission to help the burgeoning cannabis beverage sector reach its potential; a potential beyond a robust market cap, but that can offset society’s dangerous affliction with alcohol consumption with products that are enjoyable, session-able, and offer the healthful benefits offered by cannabis consumption.

About Cannabis Beverage Association:

Founded in 2019 and headquartered in Sacramento, CA, the Cannabis Beverage Association (CBA) is a trade association established to represent and advocate on behalf of the producers and consumers of cannabis beverages. Industry’s first clinically validated cannabinoid-based insomnia medication will launch globally

PHILADELPHIA, April 7, 2020 /AxisWire/ Zelira Therapeutics Ltd (ASX: ZLD,OTCQB: ZLDAF), a global leader in the development of clinically validated cannabis medicines based in both Perth, Australia and Philadelphia, is pleased to announce it has received the final report for its ZTL-101 medicinal cannabis trial for insomnia. Its findings represent a world-first clinical

validation demonstrating that ZTL-101 cannabis treatment is safe and effective for chronic insomnia. These results open prospects to launch and distribute this product in global markets including the USA in the second half of 2020.

The trial was undertaken at the world-class University of Western Australia (UWA) Centre for Sleep Science and was led by principal investigator Professor Peter Eastwood, and used a randomized, double-blind, cross-over design to evaluate the efficacy of Zelira’s proprietary

cannabis formulation (ZTL-101) to treat patients diagnosed with chronic insomnia. Twenty three patients were treated for 14 nights with ZTL-101 and 14 nights with placebo, separated by a one-week washout period. After dosing commenced, each participant was able to take a single (0.5ml of 11.5mg total cannabinoids) or double (1 ml of 23mg total cannabinoids) their dose of the medication, delivered sublingually, according to their symptoms.

Dr. Oludare Odumosu, Managing Director Zelira USA said, “We are pleased with the results of the study. This trial has yielded a comprehensive data-pack that supports our plans to launch

the world’s first clinically validated cannabinoid-based insomnia medicine into global markets this year.”

Odumosu continues, “We acknowledge the dedicated team at the UWA Centre for Sleep Science and we thank the patients and supporting investigators who participated in the study.”

An estimated 70 million Americans have insomnia where the market for prescription and over the-counter medications is forecast to be worth over US$4 billion in annual revenue by 2022. Zelira is leading the development of clinically validated full spectrum cannabis medicines to access global markets for insomnia medications.

Professor Peter Eastwood, Principal Investigator for the study, and Director at the Centre for Sleep Science at the University of Western Australia said, “This study represents the most rigorous clinical trial ever undertaken to assess the therapeutic potential of medicinal cannabis to treat the symptoms of chronic insomnia. The fact that ZLT-101 treatment achieved statistically significant, dose responsive improvements across a broad range of key insomnia indices is impressive, particularly given the relatively short two-week dosing window.”

Analysis showed treated patients slept significantly longer, went to sleep faster and went back to sleep sooner after waking. Patients also reported significant improvement in quality of life measures including feeling rested after sleep, feeling less stressed, less fatigued and improved overall functioning.

Insomnia is a large unmet medical need. It affects -30% of the US population and is a major risk factor for patients suffering chronic pain, neurological disorders (Parkinson’s, dementia), mental disorders (anxiety, depression, anorexia) and cardiovascular disease.

The market for prescription and over-the-counter medications to treat the condition in the US generates more than US$2 billion (A$3.3 billion) in annual revenue. As well as the US, Zelira will also aim to supply its insomnia formula in other markets where medicinal cannabis has been legalized including the US, Australia, Germany and the UK.

These positive results add ZLT-101 to the portfolio of Zelira products being commercialized including the recently launched HOPET range, in global markets including the US, Australia, Germany and the UK. The company is also undertaking further human clinical trials for autism and opioid reduction and is on-track to bring additional products for aged care and oral healthcare to market later in 2020.

Osagie Imasogie, Chairman of Zelira, commented, “The positive outcome to this trial represents an important milestone for Zelira and its commitment to address the unmet need for clinically validated cannabis medicines and offer more treatment options to physicians and patients. Zelira’s clinically validated products, such as ZLT-101, continue to play a disruptive role in the traditional pharmaceutical industry.”

LOS ANGELES, CA, March 31, 2020 /AxisWire/ — Driven Deliveries Inc.(the “Company” or Driven) (OTC: DRVD), California’s fastest growing online cannabis retailer and direct-to-consumer delivery company announced today, that over the last 10 days the company has experienced record growth and demand with a greater than 100% increase in sales. Following California’s decision to deem Cannabis deliveries an “essential business,” Driven is increasing infrastructure to provide California customers safe access to legal cannabis through the government mandated quarantine.

“Driven Deliveries was founded on the bedrock principle of enabling universal access to cannabis to California’s population,” said Driven Deliveries’ CEO Christian Schenk. “Driven is the only service that provides deliveries to 92% of California’s population, giving millions of people access to on-demand legal cannabis from the security and safety of their own home during this very difficult time”.

Driven Deliveries’ proprietary logistics system, acquired from Budee Inc, designed to expand efficiently based on demand in a given area, performed flawlessly during the surge in demand. “Our major launch came earlier than expected,” said Sal Villanueva, President Driven Deliveries. “The operations team has done an amazing job integrating Driven’s 3 brands on a unified platform giving Driven the ability to rapidly support the additional demand,” he added.

The impact of coronavirus has required Driven to scale its driver network to meet the increase in demand. In an effort to comply with Government orders to stay home, Driven expects further growth as people continue to incorporate delivery services into their new routines.

Finally, Driven continues to innovate in ways to make delivery both easier and safer. Driven’s delivery system allows consumers to leverage electronic payment methods as well as cash, making it significantly more convenient than other options. In addition to the extra steps being taken to ensure safe deliveries through the use of protective disposable gloves and continuous sanitization, Driven is also exploring new ways that technology can be used for a contact free delivery while still meeting the ID verification requirements.

Driven Deliveries understands that anxiety and stress are increased around the country, and that both medical and recreational customers want access to cannabis without the risk of exposure associated with visiting a dispensary.

Patient and Business Cannabis Conference Highlights the Lifestyle Brands Driving the Emerging Cannabis and Hemp Marketplaces + Elevates Cannabis and Hemp Industry Opportunities at Cox Convention Center  3.22-24.2020

OKLAHOMA CITY, OK – March 4, 2020 /AxisWire/ Oklahoma Cannabis Expo [OCE] is the most exclusive and inclusive hemp, CBD and medical marijuana expo in America. The OCE is not only priceless to patients, but ‘inner circle’ industry exposure for professionals, and education for all. OCE showcases a goldmine of the most knowledgeable and successful professionals in the hemp and cannabis industries— all focused on elevating the industries, and furthering access, education and opportunities. A disruptive force in the 72B American cannabis and hemp markets, OCE aims to serve as a blueprint for the future of hemp and medical marijuana conferences — and conferences in general, as legalization marches across the United States.

The Founder: Amy Dawn Bourlon-Hilterbran, the owner of Millennium Grown, an event production company that specializes in the hemp and cannabis arenas, and as well, is the founder of OCE. She created the expo because she saw a need to incorporate education around the plant with tremendous professional opportunities. The Mission: to elevate the B2B experience with decision-makers, while also having B2C elements for those wanting to enter the industry, with a focus on the patient. The OCE will feature emerging and sophisticated cannabis brands and experts who will explore ways that people can incorporate hemp and medical cannabis into their lifestyles, their business, their investments. The OCE will also showcase companies and service providers who capitalize on opportunities for hemp entrepreneurs, elevate the cannabis experience for patients, and provide inner circle networking for the ambitious cannabis professional. Additionally, attendees can expect live music, entertainment and concessions.

The Next: Over 200,000 people, and 8% of Oklahoma citizens, are now medical marijuana patients after only one year since legalization, and that means “Patient Purchasing Power” [PPP]. PPP — to those who are ahead of the game and innovative within the hemp and medical cannabis industries — means massive opportunity. Knowing where to be involved, when, with who is now the inspiration for those taking the long view in their cannabis career. For patients, it’s critical to know which expo or conference to attend to get up-to-date medical information from the leading licensed medical professionals can mean success or failure in their goals to improve their health and wellness.

Tommy Chong, comedian, actor, director, activist states: Being a part of the OCE and bringing education, information and some laughs to people about the potentials of hemp and cannabis is an honor. Oklahoma has embraced the plant, patients have legal access and industry opportunities are everywhere.  It’s a great example of citizens legalizing and capitalizing on many levels. Laws are changing and minds are changing and we are all learning that this is a very important medical option, but it is also an incredible opportunity for farmers, small business owners, and investors. Totally the green rush, with silver linings: changing laws, saving lives and preventing incarcerations over a plant.

Carolyn Gerin, Author, Activist, Founder: Cannawise.co; Co-author: Road Map for Revolutionaries: Cannabis is an economic, cultural, and healing force in America, and shows no signs of stopping as long as citizens, lawmakers, policymakers, and businesses demand and fight for legalization. State by state, we see the country opening hearts and minds to the plant as legalization marches forward, and all the way to the polls. Cannawise.co is proud to co-lead the National Cannabis Industry Associations Marketing and Advertising Committee MAC2020 (Election 2020) team — we promote change through activations, campaigns, media, strategic partnerships, and data capture to move our message into action to inspire people to show up at the polls (and run for office). The upcoming presidential election will be a game-changer for our industry: by pulling together as a community and industry — as activists and change agents — we can flip the script of what we are experiencing now. My agency, Cannawise.co is proud to have branded yet another great cannabis industry thought leader and community builder: the OCE. We are thrilled to support the great state of Oklahoma and the OCE for their tireless work in bringing cannabis awareness to the heartland, and bringing forward abundance, prosperity, healing, and market leadership.

Amy Dawn Bourlon-Hilterbran, owner of Millennium Grown and Founder of the Oklahoma Cannabis Expo states: Tackling issues of stigma and legalization in our home state, the Oklahoma Cannabis Expo [OCE] is educating patients while showcasing tangible market opportunities for businesses and entrepreneurs to create prosperity and job creation. We aim to create a next-level conference: where top, legitimate, hemp and cannabis brands percolate in one curated eco-system. When people know where to go, who to work with, what to buy, and how to responsibly serve and dose cannabis, the industry (local and national) becomes coaligned with patient needs and everyone wins.

What/Why: Oklahoma Cannabis Expo is the conference that highlights the hemp and cannabis industry showcasing cannabis professionals and brands for both B2B and B2C markets in the hemp, CBD and medical marijuana arenas.

Where: Cox Convention Center, Oklahoma City, OK. March 22-24, 2020.

New York City – March 3, 2020 /AxisWire/ The Green Market Report (GMR), the cannabis industry’s leading financial news outlet, releases its first Psychedelic Trend Report.  This nine-page, 3500-word report was created as a result GMR’s first ground-breaking, sold-out event on the emerging psychedelic market it held in NYC in January. This original report looks at the trends and companies that are paving the way for new looks at old treatments. You can download the report at greenmarketreport.com/reports.

As more municipalities and states begin to decriminalize various psychedelic products for medical treatments, the investment world has taken an interest in the emerging industry. Many cannabis industry leaders and investors have begun crossing over into the psychedelic world to start new companies and pursue new medical treatments. It was the interest in this evolving industry that caused the Green Market Report to host its first Psychedelic Investing Summit in New York City.

We have heard from our readers at Green Market Report that there is a great deal of interest in this emerging field of psychedelics and the companies that are leading the way. We’re also seeing that some cannabis investors are adding psychedelic investments to their portfolios. As we tried to research this industry, we found that information was lacking and that is what prompted us to hold our Summit and write this report.” Debra Borchardt, Co-founder & CEO of Green Market Media

This report gives a brief introduction to the uses of psychedelic treatments, the potential patient populations and the legal landscape for these compounds. It also highlights companies like Mind Medicine Inc., Atai Life Sciences, Field Trip Health and Eleusis Ltd., which are each pursuing different paths for treating patients. The report also covers the research being performed by companies like Back of the Yards Algae Sciences and the investment goals of companies Green Sky Strategies that is putting money into these endeavors.

Green Market Report will be hosting its next conference The Economics of 2020 Cannabis on April 3, in New York City featuring one panel on psychedelics and following that it will host another Psychedelic Investing Summit on July 30, in San Francisco. The report is available now on the Green Market Report website.
