GMR Executive Spotlight Q&A:

Full birth name: Leslie Ann Andrachuk

Title: CEO and Co-Founder

Company: Alpha Woman

Years at current company: 1

Education profile: B.A., French Literature, York University

Most successful professional accomplishment before cannabis: I was a digital publisher at Torstar for 7 years, one of Canada’s largest and oldest publishing companies, where I launched and grew one of the digital publications I managed (canadianimmigrant.ca) to profitability. I am proud of that achievement, but I am most proud of the fact that the publication fulfilled a social mandate and honoured accomplished new Canadians through an Awards program that I also co-founded – and which successfully continues to this day – called Canada’s Top 25 Immigrants.

Company Mission: The mission of Alpha Woman is to help women everywhere live their best lives physically, emotionally, professionally and financially so we can be the brave pioneers who lead the world into a new era.

We envision a world where women of diverse backgrounds and ethnicities occupy half of all leadership positions, starting in the cannabis industry and beyond into all industries and governments, by 2034.

Company’s most successful achievement: Alpha Woman is only 9 months old, so our greatest achievement is successfully building an engaged audience on a digital media publication in a short period of time, as well as launching a sold-out, profitable event.

Perhaps the most significant achivement to date is the support we receive from almost every woman we reach out to. The idea of re-framing and supporting what an Alpha Woman is resonates deeply within the alarming geo-political tapestry the world finds itself in. The world needs Alpha Women to rise up and claim their power. We plan to be the epicentre of this fundamental sea change humankind – and all the women in it – so desperately need.

Has the company raised any capital (yes or no): No

Any plans on raising capital in the future? Yes! In order to scale successfully and achieve our goals, we will need to raise capital.

Most important company 5 year goal: To help women acquire the skills, tools and investment needed to launch and successfully grow their businesses in the cannabis industry.

We are also committed to moving the needle on diversity and inclusion in leadership teams and on boards in the cannabis industry and beyond over the next five years.
