How Well Do You Know Your CBD?

Editors Note: This is a guest post.

Are you currently using, or are you planning to use CBD products? How much do you know about it? Do you know where it came from? Do you think it’s legal? Let’s find out.

There are so many things that you need to know before you decide to use a product. You need to consider the price, the ingredients, etc. That is the right thing to do! Whenever you want to put something in and on your body, whether internal or external, you still have to be sure it’s not going to harm you.

History Of Medical Marijuana

It was recorded that as early as 2737 B.C., Emperor Shen Neng of China already started using cannabis tea to treat gout, malaria, rheumatism, and poor memory. Ancient physicians had also prescribed marijuana for any pain.

This means that even though marijuana was declared illegal for many years and recently made legal due to “recent studies” claiming marijuana contains compounds that can be used for certain diseases, we still cannot say that it’s a recent discovery. It had been used already since ancient times!

In 1914, it was declared that the use of marijuana is a crime. Outright prohibitions began in the late 1920s.

According to this site, In 1833, a twenty-four-year-old Edinburgh, W.B. O’Shaughnessy, did a lot of research and introduced Cannabis to Modern Western Medicine.

Where Can You Get CBD?

We all know the drill. Cannabidiol (CBD) is a substance that exists in the cannabis Sativa plant, a family of marijuana. CBD, unlike the tetrahydrocannabinol (THC) in marijuana, does not appear to have any intoxicating effects. What makes CBD such a wonder product is that it has all the health benefits of cannabis sans the delusions part. Plus, it’s legal in most states.

If you have Epileptic seizures, anxiety, arthritis or joint problems, digestion issues, allergies, general pain, regulate appetite, inflammation, and alike, it is said that CBD can help you. There are a variety of products made that suit your needs. You may check this site https://cheefbotanicals.com/cbd-products/all-cbd-products/ for more information.  Other benefits include antidepressant; may fight cancer; helps with heart health, and lower blood sugar. However, it is said that there is no enough scientific evidence supporting these claims.

Cannabidiol may be taken in several ways. There are through inhalation of vapors, through an aerosol spray, and by mouth like pills, edibles, gummies, alcoholic beverages, supplements, and even coffees! There are also CBD oils and beauty products, and a lot more.

There are plenty of CBD products being marketed online. Some are also available in pharmacies at selected places.

Are CBD Products Legal?

In 2018, growing hemp was legalized. However, though it’s a federal law, each state still has its right to ban them if they want to.

California, Colorado, Michigan, Nevada, and Washington are several of the states where marijuana is completely legal. In these States, only CBD is legal: Alabama, Georgia, Indiana, Iowa, Kansas, North Carolina, and Oklahoma. There are also States where marijuana is fully illegal: Idaho, Nebraska, and South Dakota.

While federal law made growing hemp and buying CBD products legal, there is still a provision that it should not have more than 0.3 percent THC. Also, it still needs to follow the standards, laws, and regulations set by the Food and Drug Administration.

Obviously, if you were to be redhanded in states where marijuana is illegal, you’ll be subjected to serious consequences.

For example, in Virginia, possession of medical marijuana is technically illegal. If you were seen having it, you are given a chance to give your “affirmative defense”—a legal term that means the person convicted must be able to have his valid registration to avoid penalties, fines, or imprisonment.
